What is Fibroblast Plasma Treatments?

Fibroblast Plasma Pen is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment that can be used to treat various skin concerns. The treatment would assist with:

  • Eyelid tightening, including upper and lower eyelids
  • Lines and wrinkles around the mouth and eyes
  • Brow lift and forehead lines
  • Neck and jawline
  • Lip and brow lifting
  • Removal of small skin tags and milia
  • Pigmentation and vascular lesion treatments
  • Scar revision
  • Reduction of stretch marks
  • Blemish clearing

How Does Plasma Pen Work?

Small micro wounds are created in the treated area by the plasma flash (called an arc) from a hand-held pen-shaped device. Tightening of the treated area is caused by stimulation of the skin cells to produce collagen up to 400 times the normal production. The tiny, brown carbon spots or micro-crusts look like freckles, and fall off in a few days. Skin tightening results can be seen in as little as 1-2 weeks and will continue to improve over the next three months.

The Process: What Can I Expect?

Preparation – 2-4 weeks prior to your treatment:

  •  A thorough and comprehensive consultation with one of our fully trained therapists / aesthetician to assess your suitability for the treatment, discuss the procedure and risks, and to establish realistic expectations.
  • Please ensure you continue to use SPF 30+ daily leading up to your Plasma Pen treatment, and after.
  • Avoid unprotected sun exposure 2 weeks leading up to your Plasma Pen treatment.
  • Preparing your skin for 2 to 4 weeks leading up to your treatment with the correct components prior to your Plasma Pen treatment is vital to ensure a positive outcome and to reduce the risk of any unwanted skin responses.

Topical anaesthetic

  •  If treatment done by a medical practitioner, we will apply the topical anaesthetic for you.
  • If treatment done by one of our Therapists, you will need to order and apply your own Topical Anaesthetic. This can be obtained via Tugan Pharmacy – we can provide information and order forms for this.  Our therapists legally are not allowed to apply your Topical Anaesthetic for you.  You will need to apply this after checking in at the clinic for your procedure
  • The Procedure Of The Day
  • Prior to your Plasma Pen Fibroblast treatment you will have a consultation again to ensure you understand the process, and obtain written consent. We will use this time to guide you through the pre and post care instructions as well as inform you of the Healing process.  We will answer any questions that you may have so you are fully aware of your commitment to this fabulous treatment.
  • The treatment will take 30-45min, depending on the area

Risks

Although this is a low risk treatment, it could result in unwanted effects including but not limited to hyper or hypo-pigmentation, delayed healing, non-healing, scarring, infection.

To minimize these risks, it is absolutely paramount to follow our pre and post- care instructions.

  • You will be required to purchase CS SKIN RESTORE ($65), which is essential to promote healing and minimize the risk of infection. Apply to the treated area every 4 hours
  • Do NOT get the treated skin wet for the first 48 hours.
  • Completely avoid sun exposure to treated areas for the first 48 hours, and apply a SPF 30+.
  • There is likely to be redness and swelling for three days post treatment – this is normal
  • During the healing process, we advise against the application of any cosmetic or cosmeceutical products on the treated area.
  • The micro-crusts usually heal spontaneously within 3-5 days. As the skin starts to heal, itching may occur.
  • Other side effects may include slight tenderness for a few weeks after the treatment

 How Long Does It Last?

You will see the benefits from one treatment in as little as one week. New collagen will continue to form over the next three months

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Most areas will require 2-3 treatments, recommended 2-3 months apart. Benefits will typically last around 1-2 years. The natural ageing process of breaking down collagen will then become noticeable again. There are many factors that contribute to collagen breakdown including lifestyle and age.

Occasionally, a single treatment is sufficient to achieve satisfactory results.
